Comprehensive tests in Denmark and other countries have proved the durability of the impregnation. According to the Danish Technological Institute the high temperatures and humidity in Malaysia make boards age five times faster than in Denmark. After what corresponds to about 20 years in Denmark and without any kind of surface treatment there are initial signs of decomposition in the surface of SUPERWOOD. In comparison, untreated boards are in a pitiful state of decay or have rotted away.
